let's talk weddings

It's 2022, the largest wedding year since 1984 according to The Wedding Report. We're teed up for over 2.4 million ceremonies and if your refrigerator looks anything like mine, you believe it.

If you think about it, weddings are inherently wasteful. A day full of meticulously designed, incredibly specific, DIYed-by-bridesmaids details that in a few short hours will be headed to the landfill. On average, a single wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage

So, what the heck can we do about it? There is no one-size-fits-all answer, but overall I would say: do less. Like a lot of us try to do day to day, just consume a bit less for your wedding day. Opt for dry or local flowers, nix the printed menus and programs...

I'm looking forward to sharing more of these ideas as I continue planning my own wedding, but really I'm here to talk about the most exciting part: the outfits.

There are so. many. events. leading up to the big day with more pressure than ever to nail the perfect look (thanks, TikTok). From engagement photos, to engagement parties, to bachelorettes, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, bridesmaids dresses, even the morning after brunch - it can be overwhelming to find pieces for each party, never mind attempting to source them sustainably.
